Boise State athletics is renewing a first-of-its-kind program that is set to feature every Bronco athletic program in 2023.

Bronco Sports Properties, a leg of LEARFIELD specifically catering to Boise State athletes, reached a multi-year agreement with Jacksons Food Stores to release limited-edition trading cards for all Boise State athletic programs across 104 Jacksons locations in the Treasure Valley region near the university. The agreement comes following a successful 2022 campaign that saw trading card sets specific to the Bronco football team.

“We could not be more excited to build on this partnership to include both men’s and women’s sport programs,” Jeramiah Dickey, Boise State Director of Athletics, said in a press release obtained by The NIL Deal. “Our student-athletes work hard and we are proud to be able to recognize all of them with a community partner like Jacksons. Name, image and likeness continues to be a priority for our department and we are grateful to Bronco Nation for stepping up and supporting these endeavors.”

“We were thrilled with Bronco Nation’s overwhelming response to secure the football team trading card sets and support our student-athletes,” Cory Jackson, President of Jacksons Food Stores, said in a statement. “We are proud to expand on this partnership with Boise State Athletics to provide more opportunity for athletes and fans.”

Each pack will include 15 cards total and will include at least three cards from the men’s basketball, women’s basketball and gymnastics programs, as well as two spirit squad cards. In addition, one of every 10 packs will also contain sequentially numbered autograph cards of six select student-athletes including:

  • Tyson Degenhart – Men’s Basketball
  • Marcus Shaver Jr. – Men’s Basketball
  • Naje Smith – Men’s Basketball
  • Abby Muse – Women’s Basketball
  • Mary Kay Naro – Women’s Basketball
  • Adriana Popp – Gymnastics

“This partnership is not only important for our team but for all student-athletes at Boise State who get to be a part of this all-encompassing opportunity,” Muse told The NIL Deal. “There was a lot of buzz and excitement with the fall card release, so we’re thrilled to join in on the fun this time around. And like always, we’re thankful for the support that makes all of this possible.”

“It’s important to be promoted in this way because support for female athletics is not always present in programs,” Naro told The NIL Deal. “It is so nice to feel supported as a female athlete here at Boise State, especially with NIL deals. It just shows how awesome the Boise State community is and how supportive they are for female athletes.”

According to representatives from Jacksons, The NIL Deal received word that each athlete will be paid a pre-set royalty for licensing their NIL. Those selected for the signature card pack will be paid an additional amount to participate in that exclusive set.

The remaining two sets will launch later this summer and in the late fall.
