Purdue Player Invited to 2024 NFL Scouting Combine
Robert Goddin-USA TODAY Sports

The 2024 NFL Scouting Combine is a couple of days away and there is only one Purdue player invited. The player is running back, Tyrone Tracy Jr. The combine gives draft prospects a chance to meet with coaches, scouts, and general managers of the NFL teams. They can show off their skills and have a chance to show those in the league why they should be drafted. Here is a look at Tracy’s time with Purdue and his draft stock.

Tyrone Tracy Jr.: Purdue Player

Tracy’s collegiate career began at Iowa, where he played with the Hawkeyes for four years. He then joined the Purdue Boilermakers in 2022, playing for two years. When he was with the Hawkeyes, Tracy was a wide receiver. Now, he is a running back. In his six seasons, the running back rushed the ball 146 times for 947 yards and ten touchdowns, according to Sports Reference. He also had 113 receptions for 1,201 yards and five touchdowns. His dual-threat ability to run and catch could improve his draft stock.

Draft Stock

Tracy is listed as a running back for the combine, but teams will more than likely keep in mind that he can be a receiver as well. This will be Tracy’s second opportunity to increase his draft stock, receiving an invitation to the East-West Shrine Bowl a couple of weeks ago. As of now, his draft projection is in the seventh round. Unless they are highly projected to be a star, running backs do tend to fall in the draft. He will be a name to watch for on the third day of the draft.

The former Purdue player will get another chance to show NFL scouts why they should draft them. The 2024 NFL Scouting Combine will take place from February 27th until March 4th. The 2024 NFL Draft will take place from April 25th until April 27th.
