Former Patriots RB Stevan Ridley posts footage of race against Kevin Hart, roasts him
Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

Kevin Hart is in a wheelchair after racing Stevan Ridley. And the former Patriots running back added insult to the comedian’s injury by sharing video of the actual dash.

May we say ouch. Again. This 40-yard dash wasn’t even close.

First, let’s go to the footage of Stevan Ridley-Kevin Hart. It was just your average, impromptu, night-time, street race. What could go wrong?

Kevin Hart and Stevan Ridley raced not once, but twice

Apparently, what went wrong is that Hart and Ridley decided to run the race two times. In the first race, Ridley sprinted to a significant lead. The 40-yard dash usually is decided by tenths of a second. This wasn’t that race.

Then, as you click through Ridley’s post, you’ll find the second race. Hart looked to be using every muscle in his compact body to keep up with Ridley. Then the actor pulls up about 30 yards into the race. Click through to the third video. It’s in slow-mo. You can see Hart’s shocked face as he feels some unexpected pain.

We think it was a valiant, albeit misguided, effort from Hart. He’s 44 and a decade older than Ridley, who retired from the NFL five years ago. And give Kevin Hart props for admitting the race against Stevan Ridley in the first place. He could’ve kept it secret and made up a story as to why he’s in a wheelchair. (For instance, say it was a wrestling injury. That’s what happened to Dwayne Johnson). Instead, he posted his own video as a public service announcement. If you’re 40 or older, maybe reevaluate your athletic abilities. Muscles, tendons and ligaments tend to not be as pliant once you enter those middle aged wonder years.

Hart called himself ‘the stupidest man alive’

“Ladies and gentlemen, the age of 40 is real.,” Hart says. “To all my men and women out there. 40 years old and above. It’s not a game, respect that age. Respect that age! Or that age will make you respect it. I was just forced to respect it.

“This is just a public service announcement because I know people may see me out. And I don’t want you to be alarmed, but I’m in a wheelchair. I’m in a wheelchair. Why? Well, because I tried to jump out there and do some young stuff. Trying to go out there and do some young, some young man stuff and I was told to sit my a-- down.”

Hart said he tore muscles in his abdomen and described himself as “the stupidest man alive.”

Hart posted another video Thursday night. Apparently, he received a ton of calls offering him medical advice. “All of my friends can kiss my a--,” he wrote. “I wish y’all could hear some of these damn calls. All of a sudden everybody is damn doctor or a physician.”
