Brian Harman Comes Up Just Shy at The PLAYERS Championship
© David Yeazell-USA TODAY Sports

After shooting a field-leading 64 on Saturday, former Bulldog Brian Harman came up just one stroke short of champion Scottie Scheffler at The PLAYERS.

In the end, Brian Harman was just a stroke shy of forcing a playoff at The PLAYERS Championship on Sunday. Harman, a Savannah, Georgia native and former Georgia golfer, finished the weekend at -19, just one back from champion Scottie Scheffler's -20.

Harman was one of only four golfers to shoot a 64 during the tournament, carding the -8 on Saturday to shoot up the leaderboard. His only problem was Scheffler, the defending PLAYERS champion, chose Sunday to shoot his 64.

In the end, Harman finished in a three-way tie for second with Xander Schauffele and Wyndham Clark. They'll earn a $2,000,000+ payday for their efforts.

The result is projected to vault Harman into the top 10 of the FedEx Cup standings with 457 points. After a 26th-place finish this weekend, fellow Bulldog Chris Kirk is projected to be 8th.

Harman and the rest of the Bulldogs on Tour now have a couple of weeks to prepare for The Masters, coming up on April 12th. The Texas Children's Houston Open (3/28 - 3/31) and the Valero Texas Open (4/4 - 4/7) are next up on the PGA Tour schedule.
