Bubba Watson has funny quote about Masters Champions Dinner

Bubba Watson will 'sit outside and just stare in the window' at Masters Champions Dinner if he has to

LIV Golf's Bubba Watson said Tuesday that he's not sure where he'll be seated at this spring's Masters Champions Dinner, but he's willing to go to extreme lengths to be included.

Watson is a two-time victor at the Masters -- capturing the major in 2012 and 2014 -- but his defection to the Saudi-backed breakaway league has left things awkward with the 2023 event just over two months away. The Masters announced in December that any golfer who has qualified for the major based on its previous criteria would be invited to compete in April.

ESPN's Mark Schlabach reported Tuesday that when defending Masters champion Scottie Scheffler ran into Watson while on vacation last year, he "joked that he was going to have a separate table for" the lefty in a corner at the Champions Dinner.

"Hey, as long as I'm in the Champions Dinner, I'm fine," Watson said Tuesday, per Schlabach. "I'll sit wherever he tells me. It's fine. As long as I'm allowed back, I'll sit wherever he wants me to."

The 44-year-old added that he's "very thankful" for the chance to return and compete. Other previous Masters champions who have joined LIV Golf include Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Sergio Garcia, Patrick Reed and Charl Schwartzel.

The Masters will be the first major of the season and is scheduled to take place from April 6 to April 9.
