Golfer Davis Love III's home destroyed by massive fire

As if the coronavirus outbreak isn't scary enough, Golfer Davis Love III's Georgia home was destroyed by a massive fire at the worst possible time amid the growing COVID-19 concerns.

Glynn County Fire Department crews responded to the fire at the St. Simons Island residence around 5:20 a.m., according to First Coast News.

"The structure was fully involved upon arrival and a defensive attack was initiated. No injuries were reported and the cause is still under investigation," according Glynn County Fire Department.

Love was on the scene when fire crews arrived at the home, and a witness reported that the flames began in the garage. The cause of the fire still is being investigated.

The 55-year-old's home has been on the market since 2013 and currently is listed at $4.475 million — the listing will likely be taken down as a result of the fire.

Love has won 21 PGA Tour events, including a major, the 1997 PGA Championship and the Players Championship in 1992 and 2003.
