Sure seems like those LIV Golf guys like to throw lawsuits around, does it?
Patrick Reed is the latest member of the breakaway league to step off the links and potentially into a courtroom. But instead of going after the PGA Tour, the 2018 Masters champion is suing two old foes: the Golf Channel and commentator Brandel Chamblee.
LIV Golf's Patrick Reed seeks $750 million+ in damages in a defamation lawsuit filed against Golf Channel/ Brandel Chamblee over allegations the include:

"misreporting information" w "reckless disregard of the truth"
"targeting" Reed since age 23 "to destroy his reputation"
Per ESPN, Reed's long list of allegations includes "misreporting information with falsity and/or reckless disregard of the truth, that is with actual and constitutional malice, purposely omitting pertinent key material facts to mislead the public, and actively targeting [Reed] to destroy his reputation, create hate, and a hostile work environment for him."
For those keeping track at home, this isn't the first time Reed has gone after Chamblee and the Golf Channel. The golfer issued a cease-and-desist letter in 2020 because the commentator repeated accusations that Reed had cheated during the Hero Challenge in 2019. Chamblee continued to make mention of the incident and has further reprimanded Reed for being one of the golfers who defected from the PGA Tour to play in Greg Norman's Saudi Arabia-funded golf league.
Reed has been regularly jeered and mocked at events over the last few years over the accusations and his defensive behavior since and has insisted that Chamblee and Golf Channel, along with the PGA Tour and commissioner Jay Monahan, have been "out to get him" ever since.
Reed has hired lawyer Larry Klayman to represent him. The hire is interesting given Klayman has been very critical of LIV Golf in very recent social media posts.
