Patrick Reed ORDERED to pay Brandel Chamblee and other news outlets following dismissal of his $750 million defamation lawsuit

During the Hero World Challenge in 2019, Reed was caught “cheating” and assessed a two-stroke penalty. Since then Chamblee had questioned the play of Reed and attacked him. Tired of these attacks, Reed filed a lawsuit against him.

However, the case was dismissed later and in September 2023, Judge Timothy Corrigan in a 78-page document claimed he failed to “bring actionable defamation claims“. Despite this setback, he refused to back down. This has now led him to pay money to Chamblee, Lynch, and his other critics.

Brandel Chamblee takes subtle dig at Patrick Reed following court’s decision

Brandel Chamblee is one of the most popular figures in golf media. He might not have enjoyed a stellar career like many, his media career and his coverage of golf have made him one of the biggest names in this industry. Like many, he too has some people he does not get well along with and Patrick Reed is one of them. He has now once again taken a dig at him following the court’s decision.

Since the creation of LIV Golf, Chamblee has blasted the LIV Golf. The Golf Channel analyst has slammed the league for running themselves using the money of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF).

Taking to his X account to react to this ruling, Chamblee dropped another huge claim. He mentioned that Reed had started working for a person who does not allow free speech and thus has fallen into this trap.

The court has now ordered the law firms representing the defendants to file a motion for the fees and costs. The 2018 Masters Champion now has time till February 23 to respond to this ruling.
