PGA golfer flips off caddie after holing out from bunker

PGA tour golfer Mark Hubbard is not known at all for making headlines. He found a way on Friday in the John Deere Classic. Hubbard was in the top 10, ranked in ninth place, when he hit a beautiful chip from the bunker in the pouring rain. The ball landed just over the fringe and then broke perfectly towards the cup, dropping in. Once he made the chip, Hubbard decided to flip off his caddie, laughing as he did it.

Check it out below.

It was a pretty hilarious moment. His caddy told him to “get it close.” Which is why Hubbard decided to flip him off after he drained it.

Hubbard finished his second round at 9-under par, ranking him ninth in the field for the John Deere Classic. He’s just four shots behind the tournament leader, Cameron Young. It’s good to see Young playing well again. He’s back to the form that we saw out of him when he brought home Rookie of the Year honors during his first season on the tour.

The John Deere Classic has always been the last PGA Tour event before the British Open. This year’s version will be played at Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Merseyside, England. That one will start on July 20th and end on July 23rd.

It should be exciting to see how all the players play in the final major of the 2023 season. Especially with the emergence of Rickie Fowler lately, this year’s British Open should be fascinating to watch, even if the timing is odd due to the time zone difference in England.

Rickie Fowler’s emergence has been a hot story on the PGA Tour

Fowler has miraculously ascended to the top 25 of the World Golf Rankings after his recent win at the Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit. The breakthrough win ended a four-year drought for the former Oklahoma State star. This comes after he fell all the way to 185th in the world at one point. During one stretch, he went 29 consecutive starts without recording a top 10 finish.
