One week before Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson join Tom Brady and Peyton Manning for a charity golf event, four other pros will face off in a skins match to raise funds for multiple organizations.
On Monday, John Ourand of Sports Business Journal confirmed that Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson will play against Rickie Fowler and Matt Wolff in a skins match televised on NBC, NBC Sports Network, and Golf Channel.
Per Ourand, McIlroy and Johnson are playing to support the American Nurses Foundation. Fowler and Wolff are playing for the CDC Foundation.
Farmers Insurance pledged $1 million for the Off Their Plate charity that is providing assistance for healthcare workers battling the coronavirus pandemic on the front lines.
The foursome will play at Seminole Golf Club in Juno Beach, Florida. In late April, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis welcomed such sporting events back to the state without fans in attendance.
All four players, as well as those calling the action, will practice social-distancing protocol, which is much easier in a solo sport such as golf than it is in team competitions.
The PGA Tour will encourage viewers to offer donations during the match.
