Watch: Harris English hits hole-in-one at Charles Schwab Challenge

The Charles Schwab Challenge is just halfway over in Fort Worth, Texas, but the highlight of the tournament might have already occurred on Friday afternoon, when Harris English nailed a hole-in-one on the eighth hole

English smoothly lofted the ball with a nine iron on the Par-3, 170-foot hole, landing it on the green in front of the pin. It bounced twice before finding its way home.

Hole-in-ones are nothing new to English, with his effort in the Charles Schwab Challenge marking the third time he has accomplished the feat in his 302 career PGA Tour events

English's hole-in-one is the second one in as many weeks at a PGA event, as Michael Block sunk one of his own on his way to a shocking 15th-place finish in the PGA Championship last weekend, a finish which earned him an invitation to this weekend's tournament in Texas.

English's ace was part of second successful day at Colonial Country Club for the 33-year-old American, who shot four under par on the round to take his tournament score to nine under. The score was good enough for first place when he hit the clubhouse, but he has since been overtaken by Harry Hall – who sits in the lead at -12 – with Eimiliano Grillo, Adam Schenk and Robby Shelton rounding out the top five on the tournament leaderboard.

World No. 1 ranked Scottie Scheffler is also within shouting distance of the lead, tied for seventh at six under, while defending champion Sam Burns is tied for 19th at three under par. For his part, PGA Championship surprise Block finished +15 after two rounds, completing his run in the tournament while placing dead last.
