Paul Goldschmidt Achieved An Exciting Cardinals Milestone

The St. Louis Cardinals are riding high in the month of August, thanks in large part to Paul Goldschmidt, the favorite to win the National League MVP award.

Goldschmidt had three RBI in last night’s 5-4 come-from-behind victory over the Colorado Rockies, hitting a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth inning and tying the game with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh.

With the fifth-inning home run, Goldschmidt reached an exciting Cardinals milestone.

The home run was Goldschmidt’s 100th since joining the Cardinals prior to the 2019 season.

Goldschmidt is now the 24th player to have hit at least 100 home runs in a Cardinals uniform.

Goldy Makes Cards History

Goldschmidt is experiencing all kinds of highs in 2022.

After a slow start back in April, Goldschmidt has kicked it into gear and is carrying the load for this Cardinals team that has its sights set on a 12th World Series title.

The home run was also Goldschmidt’s 29th of the year.

For the season, he is hitting .328 with 92 RBI and has posted an insane 1.030 OPS.

It’s hard to imagine Goldschmidt not earning MVP honors when the season is over.

The Cardinals are lucky to have his presence in their lineup.

He was acquired back in 2018 in hopes of being that impact bat the Cards so desperately needed at the time.

He has been everything that the Cardinals have asked for since joining the club.

He’s only been with the team for four years now, but he’s already climbing the ranks in Cardinals history.

Along with Nolan Arenado, he has helped the Cardinals get hot and take hold of first place in the National League Central, where they hope to stay for the remainder of the season.
