Los Angeles Lakers Announce LeBron James, Anthony Davis’ Final Injury Status for Play-In Showdown Vs. Pelicans
Petre Thomas-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Lakers came out with a statement win in their last regular-season game of 2023-24. They took down the New Orleans Pelicans in a 124-108 blowout, to set up a winner-take-all Play-In showdown against the same opponent.

On Tuesday night, the Lakers will battle the Pelicans again, except that this time, the No. 7 seed in the Playoffs will be on the line.

You can be sure that the Lakers will do everything in their power to secure a win on Tuesday, and fans will be glad to know that both LeBron James and Anthony Davis have been cleared to play in this crucial matchup.

Los Angeles Lakers News: LeBron James, Anthony Davis Good to Go Vs. Pelicans

The Lakers confirmed the availability of both LeBron and Davis less than an hour before tip-off (h/t Jovan Buha of The Athletic):

“Anthony Davis and LeBron James are playing against the New Orleans Pelicans, per the Lakers,” reported Buha.

There wasn’t really much doubt surrounding James’ status for this one, especially after he was tagged as probable to play heading into the contest. The four-time NBA champ is still dealing with an issue in his left ankle, but LeBron has been playing through the same for the past couple of months now.

Davis, on the other hand, was in serious jeopardy of missing this game after he tweaked his back against the Pelicans on Sunday. AD was forced to exit the game and was unable to return.

The Lakers listed Davis as questionable to play on the official injury report, which cast even more doubt on his status for tonight’s game.

Then again, the 6-foot-10 forward/center himself said that there was no way he was going to sit this one out, and being a man of his word, Davis will indeed start against Brandon Ingram and Co. in what should be a captivating battle.
