Cleveland Browns GM doesn't hold back on Jerry Jeudy
Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

The Cleveland Browns swung a trade with the Denver Broncos to acquire wide receiver Jerry Jeudy this offseason, giving the team a solid No. 2 guy behind Amari Cooper.

The cost to land Jeudy was rather minimal, as the Browns sent a fifth-round pick and a sixth-rounder to the Broncos in exchange for the 25-year-old.

Jeudy had his fair share of struggles in Denver, and while he posted decent numbers, he was a considerable disappointment considering the fact that the Broncos used the 15th overall pick on him back in 2020.

However, Cleveland general manager Andrew Berry loves what Jeudy brings to the table, and he said as much during a recent appearance on The Pat McAfee Show.

“When Jerry was available, we felt like we could have a player that was a top-notch separator in this league, had a diverse number of ways that he could produce,” Berry said. ” … He really kind of fit the profile and skill set that we really wanted in our offense, so we looked at that as a great opportunity for us and we were aggressive with trying to bring him in.”

Jeudy is coming off of a 2023 campaign in which he played 16 games and caught 54 passes for 758 yards and a couple of touchdowns.

The University of Alabama product got off to a decent start during his rookie year, finishing with 52 catches for 856 yards and three scores. The following year, Jeudy took a major step back due to injuries, appearing in 10 contests and snaring 38 balls for 467 yards.

Then, in 2022, Jeudy appeared to be on the verge of breaking out, hauling in 67 receptions for 972 yards while reaching the end zone six times in 15 games.

Obviously, Jerry Jeudy regressed this past year, but perhaps a fresh start with the Browns could get him back on the right track.
