Ravens escape minicamp after two injury scares

The Ravens wrapped up their mandatory minicamp with major relief after having two injury scares on Thursday.

According to reports, guard John Simpson went down holding his knee and safety Kyle Hamilton hobbled off the field holding his leg. Luckily, both players returned to practice.

There always seems to be some unfortunate injuries during this time of the offseason as teams begin to install their playbooks, and fortunately, Baltimore dodged a couple.

The Ravens have dealt with their fair share of injuries over the past couple of seasons, so heading into break until training camp healthy is some of the best news fans could hear.

Simpson joined Baltimore in 2022 after spending the first few years of his career with the Raiders, who drafted him in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He is currently a backup.

However, the major scare was Hamilton, the Ravens' 2022 first-round pick. Hamilton is set to have a much larger role in 2023 after the team traded veteran safety Chuck Clark to the Jets this offseason.

If Baltimore would have lost Hamilton to injury, it would have had a concerning hole at the position. Thankfully that isn't the case as Hamilton is heading into year two with confidence.

"I feel like I can slide into that role for sure and perform at a high level," Hamilton said on "The Ravens Lounge" podcast.
