Report: Rams Not Expected to Tender Linebacker Rozeboom
Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

NFL free agency is coming up, and the Los Angeles Rams will most likely add another free agent to the pool of linebackers already available.

According to Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic , the Rams are not expected to tender inside linebacker Christian Rozeboom, and that would make him a free agent.

Rozeboom is the team's No. 2 middle linebacker and has made himself a vital piece of the Rams' special team unit. He will test the free agency waters in a market that already has some very talented players at his position, including guys like Patrick Queen, Lavonte David, and Frankie Luvu.

The 27-year-old played his third season in the NFL this past year, and it was his first year getting consistent playing time. He finished the season with a solid 79 total tackles as well as an interception in the team's Week 6 matchup against Joshua Dobbs and the Arizona Cardinals.

The Rams have found their core guys at the linebacker position in Ernest Jones and Byron Young, so they have really no need for Rozeboom. The team will most likely not tender him so that he can go have a much bigger role on a different team, because the Rams know that he has the talent to do just that.

The Rams have other restricted free agents: Alaric Jackson, Michael Hoecht, Tyler Johnson, and Jonah Williams. Ronnie Rivers and Austin Trammell are exclusive rights free agents, and the team has already announced that they will tender Rivers.
