The Seattle Seahawks gave him a cup of coffee.

Are the Dallas Cowboys needy enough to provide former first-round NFL draft pick Laquon Treadwell a longer stay?

The Cowboys conducted their annual “Dallas Day” workout on Friday in Frisco, Texas, and in addition to the customary habit of NFL Draft prospects with local ties being allowed to participate, select vets are also allowed to accept invitations to try to get another shot.

A Treadwell tryout? CowboysSI.com is reporting that "as this time'' the Cowboys do not plan on making a contract offer to the player, who if he had realized his pre-draft potential might fit right in to Dallas receiving room led by CeeDee Lamb, Brandin Cooks (just acquired via trade) and Michael Gallup.

And indeed, over the course of six games last year with Seattle, he make it work on a team led by Tyler Locker and DK Metcalf.

Treadwell, 27, starred at Ole Miss who was selected 23rd overall in the 2016 NFL Draft. He played for four seasons in Minnesota and then spent a single year in Atlanta, where he scored two TDs in 2020. In 2021, he did offer a glimpse of what he could do with a career-high 434 receiving yards.

The 6-2 Treadwell was a practice-squadder and a project last season in Seattle before appearing in six games for the Seahawks.
