Last week when head coach Sean McVay was on the "Coach Cam" of ABC7's Los Angeles Rams broadcast, he had to keep his composure as his team struggled.

This week, however, he couldn't contain his excitement as linebacker Jake Hummel intercepted Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Brian Hoyer and returned it 21 yards for a pick-six. McVay channeled his inner Rams play-by-play announcer Andrew Siciliano as the play was happening.

"Great job, Jake Hummel! That's a hook player taking it to the crib, baby!" McVay said on ABC7's broadcast. "How 'bout that hook job? My man, Hummel. (He's a) captain tonight. Oh man, is that exciting? This is the only time good s--- happens when I come on with you guys. Oh man, that's great."

While still on the live camera, he went up to Hummel, gave him a hug, congratulated him and told him his play was "awesome."

McVay said the magnitude of the play in the moment helped swing energy back towards the Rams' side.

"We did a great job getting some depth on the drop," McVay said. "We ended up bringing an external blitz right there and went up and snatched it and to be able to finish it with a touchdown. I thought that was huge to be able to get that momentum because they definitely had total control of it in the first half. To be able to see that play unfold the way that it did and the excitement that the guys had for Jake, that was awesome."

Safety John Johnson III said Hummel made a "phenomenal catch."

"He was running like he stole something to the end zone," Johnson said. "It was fun to watch."
