NHL bets: Two plus-money plays for Thursday, Feb. 22

It's been a tad too long since we won both our article plays, so let's go ahead and remedy that today with two tantalizing choices in the NHL market. Both come in at plus-money in spots that stand out thanks to some power play metrics of interest.

1u: Robert Thomas & Jordan Kyrou 1+ point each (+100 DraftKings)

Islanders at Blues, 8 p.m. ET, BSMW, MSG2

This is a combo I will gladly continue backing. The Islanders are allowing 3.7 goals per game on the road over the past month and a half, and a massive reason why is because they have the distinction of being the league's worst penalty kill in the last 30 days.

That latter point is the kicker here, as St. Louis is absolutely humming with their top power play group at the moment. The Blues have notched a power-play goal in eight of their last 10 games (12 total) and these two are some of my favorite choices to get involved in any chances they get tonight.

I prefer just parlaying them each to get a point in any fashion, which extends to 5v5 chances, and they skate on St. Louis's top line together. Thomas has 15 points in his last 10 games and six in his last four against New York. Kyrou has nine points in his past eight games and four in his last four meetings with the Isles.

.75u: Cody Glass 3+ shots (+185 FanDuel)

Predators at Kings, 10:30 p.m. ET, ESPN+, Hulu

Cody Glass was not a name I anticipated betting today, let alone being the first prop I placed this morning. However, that's what research gets you.

Glass first got on my radar as I went through my usual motions digging into power play numbers. He and the Predators are facing a Los Angeles Kings team that is currently handing out the second-most power play chances per game.

Glass is tied for the team in power play shots over the last 10 games, so knowing those chances are likely coming down the runway piqued my interest. Then I looked into him a bit more, and wow, this man is absolutely ripping the puck. He has finished with five SOG in three of his last four games, and he has 3+ shots in five of his last eight games, including a game against the Kings at the end of January.

Los Angeles is allowing the fourth-most shots per game to wings over the past 10 games, so add it all up, and I think jumping past Glass's 1.5 shot line (-160) and going right here at +185 is the move for me.
