Watch: Senators' Tim Stutzle shows off HR swing on buzzer-beating OT winner in Sweden

Ottawa Senators center Tim Stutzle treated hockey fans in Stockholm, Sweden, to one heck of a show during Thursday's NHL Global Series contest against the Detroit Red Wings, but he saved his best for last.

With the score tied 4-4 and the overtime period nearing its end, the Senators and Red Wings seemed destined to decide things in a shootout. However, with two ticks left on the clock, Stutzle showed off his baseball skills, batting a deflected pass out of mid-air into the back of the net for a thrilling game-winner.

During the frantic final seconds of the extra session, a Stutzle attempt went wide, and the Senators center eventually found himself alone in front of the Red Wings cage. Winger Drake Batherson looked Stutzle's way, but he had his pass chipped into the air off the stick of diving Red Wings defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere. Yet, that was no problem for Stutzle, who simply swatted the puck past Detroit netminder James Reimer.

Stutzle finished with a game-high three points (one goal, two assists), and believe it or not, his walk-off goal wasn't his first highlight-reel play of the night. Midway through the first period, Stutzle made a mind-blowing no-look pass from his knees to wide-open forward Brady Tkachuk, who made no mistake, burying the goal to give the Senators an early 2-0 lead.

Ottawa ultimately built a 4-0 lead in the second period before giving up four unanswered to Detroit ahead of the start of the third. Then, a scoreless third period set the stage for Stutzle's heroics.

The 21-year-old is off to another hot start in 2023-20, a season removed from posting a career-high 90-point season (39 goals, 51 assists). Through 14 games, Stutzle leads the Senators with 20 points (four goals, 16 assists).
