There is still a chance that Gundogan could stay at City but there has been no agreement yet so therefore he has been placed on the released list.

Barcelona and Arsenal have been linked with the 32-year-old as well as an offer from former club Borussia Dortmund which he rejected.

Saudi Arabia have also reportedly offered him an expensive contract to join their Pro League as well.

So he plenty of offers and due to the fact he came into his best form of the campaign when City needed him Pep Guardiola had made a late push to secure the contract but negotiations are still ongoing.

There was three other players on the released list from Manchester City.

Two youth players Rowan McDonald and Terrell Agyemang have been let go by the club after zero senior appearances for the first team.

The pair only ever played for Manchester City's under 21's side as they both won the under 21 Premier League title.
