Frenchman Ugo Humbert delighted the home crowd by winning his fifth ATP Tour title Sunday, besting Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria 6-4, 6-3 at the Open 13 Provence at Marseille, France.
Humbert, the fourth seed, jumped to a 3-0 lead in the second set after saving two break points in the first game and breaking the serve of Dimitrov, the second seed, in the following game.
Dimitrov had defeated Humbert in the duo's two prior meetings before Humbert's 84-minute victory. The win was fueled by Humbert's exceptional serving. He fired 10 aces, saved both of his two break points and won 87 percent of points on his first serve (33 of 38).
Humbert has won all five of his tour finals.
