The Saints drafted five players and signed 17 undrafted free agents last weekend, so they needed to open up some space on the roster this week. They did some housecleaning on Tuesday.
Cornerback KeiVarae Russell was back on the Saints practice field on Thursday. Russell was activated from the COVID-19 reserve list and put back on the active roster in time for the workout.
The Saints continue to churn their roster. They announced the previously reported signings of veteran cornerbacks Prince Amukamara and KeiVarae Russell.
A couple of veteran cornerbacks are set to sign with the Saints. Prince Amukamara and KeiVarae Russell each worked out for the team this weekend and Dan Graziano of ESPN reports that the plan is to sign them as long as both players pass their physicals.
